Join HOPERA’s three vocally-inclined founders—Ashley Duplechien, Brennan Blankenship, and Megan Berti—for Hopsolutely Fabulous, an intimate, pay-what-you-can, fundraising concert celebrating the music, friendship, and family that has underpinned HOPERA from the beginning.

Featuring music from our re-imagined classics, this special evening will support HOPERA’s mission while showcasing the artistry (and madness) that started it all.

Our fall Pint-Sized Performance, Mi Orgullo, Mi Herencia, honors Hispanic Heritage Month with an all-Spanish-language program celebrating the richness of Hispanic musical traditions.

Featuring soprano Ofelia Adame Williams and collaborative pianist Bethany Self, this special concert pays tribute to the stories, cultures, and communities that shape our shared heritage.

Before you bid adieu to spooky season, experience the psychological suspense of Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw in an immersive new production exploring innocence, responsibility, and the complex bonds between those entrusted to care for one another.

This thriller will have you wondering: Is this house haunted, or are you just seeing things?!

Let’s raise a glass to romance with our Valentine’s-themed Pint-Sized Performance, Love on Tap, featuring HOPERA Advisory Board member Camden Kegley, alongside Madeline Andriesen, Jack Cozad, and Andreea Muţ. Enjoy an evening of love, jealousy, and romance through opera and musical theatre classics. Who will get the girl, and who will leave broken-hearted?

In the spring, HOPERA reimagines Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Cinderella), transforming the beloved comic opera into a fresh, contemporary story of family, forgiveness, and finding your place in the world. Filled with mistaken identities, unexpected romance, and Rossini’s sparkling score, this joyful production celebrates the enduring power of kindness and compassion and will be paired with a special partnership with Project Prom Promise!

Pagliacci is the tale of a traveling clown troupe where the jokes stop the moment jealousy takes center stage. Canio, the head clown, discovers his wife Nedda’s secret romance, and suddenly the comedy act gets way too real. The line between performance and reality blurs until heartbreak and tragedy steal the show. It’s messy, it’s dramatic, and yes — even clowns cry.

These private caroling sessions are part of our Giving Tuesday Caroling Campaign jointly benefitting HOPERA and Texas Children’s Hospital.

Our band of merry singers (HOPERA volunteer carolers) spread holiday cheer through the halls and rooms of TCH. From classic carols to festive sing-alongs, our singers share moments of comfort and cheer with patients, families, and staff — reminding us just how powerful music can be.

While these events are private and not open to the public, we greatly appreciate your support of this new HOPERA tradition. 

Got an outfit that’s too fabulous, too sparkly, too dinosaur-y, or too WHY DID I BUY THIS for normal life? Perfect! This karaoke night is exactly for that.

Dust off that gown, vintage tux, inflatable dinosaur costume, sequined jumpsuit, or the impulse-buy boots you’ve only worn in your bathroom mirror. We’re turning Gristworks into a judgment-free runway where the fashion is bold, the beer is cold, and the high notes are optional (but encouraged).

Sing your heart out. Strut your stuff. And finally give that outrageous fit the night out it deserves.

Join us for an incredible Pint-Sized Performance where classical music, craft beer, and handmade cupcakes come together in perfect harmony. Local performers Erin McDaniels, Cody Ryan Arthur, and Andreea Muţ will tantalize your ears and your tastebuds with songs paired to beers served two ways: in a glass, and baked into Prima Donna Cupcakes. Who says you can’t have your beer and eat it too?!

Join us for a hypnotic and romantic evening of German music while you enjoy a refreshing brew. Don’t sprechen ze Deutsch? Don’t worry! This Pint-Sized Performance will be narrated in English by the charismatic Noel Bouley, while Soprano Stephanie Lewis Northcutt, Contralto Davia Bouley, Violist Eliseo Rene Salazar, and Pianist Bethany Self provide world-class storytelling through song.

Our second HOPERA of the year, “Cozy,” a modern albeit silly adaptation of Mozart’s Così fan tutte, juxtaposes certified classical bops against the background of a island-themed dating show you may find familiar!

A group of singles enter the villa, but trust is the first thing to get dumped. Two guys bet their girls’ heads won’t get turned after a show producer decides to throw in a new twist (and a bribe)… Spoiler: the ladies aren’t exactly loyal, and things get spicy fast. At the end, everyone’s either coupled up or broken up, and questioning their life choices — pure opera reality TV.
